Growing Gardens is a non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating community through gardening. Growing Gardens provides field trips to groups of elementary aged school children through our Children’s Peace Garden Program utilizing engaging, hands-on garden activities to enhance existing science and social studies curriculum.
Field trips can be scheduled from March – November on our site for visiting school groups (up to 60 children) for up to 2 ˝ hours of programming. Field trips are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9-12 or Wednesday or Thursday afternoons from 12 – 2:30. After school hours are also available. If these dates or times don’t work for your class, please call Annie to arrange a time that will work with your schedule.
The goals of the Children’s Peace Garden include students learning about local food, organic gardening practices, the importance of biodiversity and community, and reconnecting with the Earth through experiential gardening activities.
