Intro to Gardening 1

This workshop is designed to give gardeners a fresh look at planning their garden spaces for maximum production and efficiency. Participants will also learn the basics of organic and biodynamic gardening. Topics and materials will include: Starting Seeds, Soil Preparation, and Transplanting all with a focus on Planning. We will have discussion and practical hands-hand on activities!

Intro to Gardening 2

A handful of tomatoesThis workshop will introduce soil Fertility and will help gardeners to incorporate the care of the soil in to their gardening practices to increase production. Participants will also learn some basic organic and biodynamic gardening skills. Topics and materials will include: Composting, Cover Crop use, and Compost Tea. We will have discussion and practical hands-hand on activities!

Gardening with Kids

Kids gardeningCome learn and explore with your kids in the garden! Learn about garden design, seed selection, starting and transplanting. Take home your own seed starts and build a tool kit of fun kids gardening activities. We’ll incorporate art, discovery, insects, and animals into our garden morning. This workshop is open to adults and children. (Children must be accompanied by an adult) There will be discussion and practical hands-hand on activities for both children and adults.

Intro to Worm Composting

Vermiculture -- worm composting -- is an efficient and year round method to composting your kitchen scraps, and plant leftovers. Learn how to set up your own bin, this can be done indoors in an apartment, garage, basement, or under your kitchen sink. The worms do all the work and you will lower the volume of garbage generated in your home and you will have beautiful compost to use in your garden or indoor plants.

Intro to Preserving and Freezing Summer Produce

Learn to extend the garden season by putting up the fresh produce of summer months to enjoy in the winter. Come join us to make the most of your garden and farmers market. Demonstration and hands on activities will prepare you to start canning and freezing at home. Chef Deb will demonstrate how to preserve chutney, jelly, and salsa. We will also cover freezing preparations for fresh garden herbs by making a variety of creative and tasty pestos. You will be able to take home some of the delicious creations.

Eating Raw

Learn to prepare produce straight form the garden when it is in its most vital state. Eating raw food in season offers an amazing culinary experience-while giving you maximum nutrition. If your summer has been too hot to cook, but not too hot to eat come join us.
