Growing Gardens’ interns are an essential part of the work we do. We offer internships in environmental education, non-profit development, farm management, and greenhouse, orchard, and garden growing. All of our internships combine community development, urban agriculture, and youth mentorship. We promise to have fun, teach you the skills you need to succeed in your field, and provide you with a welcoming and exciting environment. In exchange, we ask that interns maintain a desire to learn, work hard and have a positive attitude.
All of our internships qualify for university credit and all of our full-season opportunities include a living stipend.

Non-Profit Operations, Development, and Marketing Internships
Development & Operations Intern
This position runs from January 15 – December 15, 2016
This intern will assist with Fundraising and Grant writing, Marketing and Outreach, and Special Events. They will also assist with program registration, event logistics, and behind the scenes support for our entire organization. This is a full time (40 hrs/week) position. Environmental Education Internships
Full Season Environmental Education Instructor (March – October)
The Full Season Environmental Education Instructor internship will work among all of our programs; Children's Peace Garden, Community Classes, Cultiva! Youth Project and Community Gardens. This is a full time (40 hrs/week) position. Please click here for the complete internship description.
Spring Environmental Education Instructor (March - May)
The Spring Environmental Education Instructor is a part-time internship (15 hrs/week). This intern works in all Children's Peace Garden programs - After School Garden Club, Field Trips and Classroom Visits. Please click here for the complete internship description.
Summer Environmental Education Instructor (May - August)

Spring Greenhouse Grower Internship (March – May)
This internship focuses on the cultivation of vegetable and flower crops in the greenhouse environment. It is a part-time position (10-15 hrs/week) Please click here for a complete description of the position.
Cultiva Farm Management Internship (April – October)
This intern reports to our Farm Manager and focuses on assisting in the management and cultivation of the Cultiva Youth farm, and has a component of community leadership and youth development through our Cultiva program. Orchard and Farm Grower Internship (March – October)
This intern reports to the Orchard and Site Manager and the position includes working in the Growing Gardens Orchard, maintaining the Children’s Peace Garden, and working in the greenhouses and Cultiva farm fields throughout the season.
